Between August 5-11, 2006, twenty youth and adults from Plymouth Congregational Church traveled toMexico to construct a home for Reina and Fidel Rivera of the Lomas del Valle comunidad in Tijuana. Building a home builds people, and faith, and relationships too. We departed as families and assorted friends. Working together, we discovered new construction skills, new sports companions, a world removed from our hometown, and some very tangible reasons that God might be concerned for the poor. We returned to Paso Robles as a community of co-workers and Mexico amigos. The participants, your short-term missionaries, thank you for your support and prayers as they return to their lives with some new insights.
